## Software engineering, infrastructure, and practical documentation

Arshad Mehmood is a Software Engineer at SAP SE in Germany and the founder of [Kookydroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7044232667654327190). He holds an M.Sc. in Business Informatics from the University of Mannheim and specializes in cloud-native backend engineering with Go and Kubernetes, DevOps infrastructure, self-hosted systems, and Android development.

This site is my working notebook. I write about incidents I have debugged, tools I have built, and technical details worth finding again. Longer investigations become [posts](/posts/); focused commands and discoveries go into [Today I Learned](/today-i-learned/).

### What I work with

- **Cloud-native backend engineering:** Go, Kubernetes, APIs, distributed systems, and production troubleshooting
- **Infrastructure and operations:** Linux, Docker, CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and self-hosted systems
- **Software development:** Python, TypeScript, Node.js, Android, and data-backed applications
- **Technical communication:** practical documentation, incident write-ups, and concise reference notes

Earlier in my career, I published several Android applications and built web and integration projects for clients. That history is collected in the [portfolio](/portfolio/).

### Current work

- SAP SE — backend and cloud-native software engineering
- [Kookydroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=7044232667654327190) — the software and Android publishing studio I founded
- [Vault Linker](https://github.com/arshad115/vault-linker) — an open-source CLI and Obsidian plugin that creates safe links between related notes
- [Today I Learned](https://github.com/arshad115/today-i-learned) — a searchable collection of focused technical notes
- This blog — longer guides, incident reports, and honest accounts of what worked and what did not

### Why I write

Writing forces vague understanding into something testable. Publishing it makes that work useful to someone facing the same error message months or years later. I prefer concrete examples, commands, trade-offs, and failure modes over generic advice.
